Come Take It - Pulpit

Long ago when the Persian army came for the Spartans weapons, King Leonidas is fabled to have responded with the simple phrase molon labe. October 2, 1835 at the Battle of Gonzales, a band of Texians raised a white flag, but not one of surrender. With the defiant outline of a prized cannon, the defiant band sent their message to the Mexican forces. "Come and Take It" on a flag made by Sarah Seely Dewitt and her daughter Evaline out of a wedding dress sent the same message of old. To this day it stands as the clear message for those who see their liberty being strongarmed away. The Church is no place for the pulpit to be given over, it is the place where Truth and Freedom flow to the needy from the Creator and Giver of both.
